Last weekend we tasted another bottle of this marvellous Champagne after the bottles had been given a rest from their journey across the Channel. It tasted even better or was it my imagination or sense of expectation? It had a wonderful savoury and complex flavour typical of a well produced Champagne. I always think that good Champagne has a slight taste of cider perhaps it is the traces of malic acid. The flavours are concentrated on the palate and the taste remains on the tongue for a remarkable length of time after swallowing. These are usually signs of a good quality wine.
This is wonderful Champagne and no wonder it is getting good write ups in Decanter magazine. It is worth visiting the estate in Moussy which is about 10 kms from Epernay. It puts many more expensive Négociants Champagnes to shame. And, on a cost quality basis it is very difficult to equal it.
I recommend this Champagne highly.
